Mr. S’ broken leg has put a serious cramp in my schedule. I love him and am happy to help him, but I think the only thing getting me through this is the fact that the situation is temporary. Only 5 more days and the cast comes off! Only. Five. More. Days.

As a result of being Mr. S’ chauffeur and being the only one who can walk Kingston, along with the various other interruptions throughout the day that only a person with two good legs can do, I have brought work home every night for the past 6 weeks. The work is getting done even if it means I work when I should be watching new episodes of LOST.

As proof of this accomplishment, my latest blog post for SEO.com was published today. Read it, Tweet it, pass it on. I can’t let all my super powers go unnoticed. And in other work news I will soon be shooting a promotional video for our website. I should say “starring” in a promotional video, but I’m trying not to get ahead of myself. If I play my cards right, stay balanced throughout my new found fame, and pick future projects that show my depth and talent, I should have a long and successful career. It’s either that or end up the subject of a True Hollywood Story. And nobody wants that. Unless you’re Lindsay Lohan. Or that kid from Family Ties.

I think my job as the latter was overshadowed by the real geniuses sitting next to me, but when it was time to move on to the next question I rocked the microphone. If you missed it, you can catch the panel discussion here.

As a result of that event I was able to meet a few of those who I follow on Twitter. I woke up this morning to find a few tweets (yup, I went right to bed when it was over) offering kind words for how the event went off, as well as one person who commented on my “glowy”ness. I also learned a lot about flossing.

And then there were these tweets:

“@RobynStorms I told @aliasname* every time I see your name I think it sounds like an undercover superhero name.”

“Silly @otheraliasname*, that is because @RobynStorms is a superhero! #justsayin.”

I’ve mentioned before that people have said that my last name makes me sound like a superhero. Now you have proof. But if my mad dance or oreo loving skills qualify me, then so be it.

*names have been changed to protect the innocent. See, I am a superhero. Protecting civilians is what I do.

I work for a pretty great company with some pretty great people. And I need no other proof than to look at the high caliber production we put together yesterday afternoon. Lyrics were co-written by Lori and myself, with music written by Lord James Pierpont. And an especially big shout out to our backup dancers who jumped into their roles without any prior rehearsal.

I think this more than makes up for the fact that I have slacked on producing anything for the company blog lately. The Best Buy carolers have some serious competition.

It wasn’t too long ago, January to be exact, that I found myself starting a new job. I had spent the previous 4 years working for a media buying agency, which was about 2 years too long. My boss was unrealistic, demanding and CRAZY and I longed to find a job where I felt fulfilled and appreciated. On a whim I applied for a position as a web marketing assistant at a local agency. I had no experience but I had charm and they were willing to train, so what did I have to lose? I got the job. The first few months were great. My boss was someone I knew I would learn a lot from and I quickly found a new BFF. Fast forward a few months, it’s now May, and my boss informs the BFF and I that he is taking another position (insert sad face here.) But that his new company is hiring (insert contemplative face here.) Not wanting to jump ship immediately I let the former boss fill out the new company first. Plus I didn’t want to commute to Provo.

Good news though.

Things went downhill at the agency after he left. That’s not the good news, but it’s leading somewhere. And as luck would have it the old boss’ new company moved closer AND were still hiring. I got the job. And now my old boss is my new boss and all is right with the world. I miss out on bagel Friday and having popcorn:30 with the BFF, but the new job took me white water river rafting. Not bad.

More good news.

My new job requires that I blog on the company website about once a month. It will mostly be about internet marketing and SEO strategies, since duh, that’s what I do. But if you’re into that kind of thing or just want to see what I do when I’m not saving the world read my first post and let me know what you think.
