Bread Winner

blue ribbonThis post has nothing to do with bringing home the bacon (though I do love bacon) but is an announcement that I am a winner. But you already knew that.

Yesterday for National Homemade Bread Day my office held a contest for best homemade bread. Seeing how I work mainly with guys, only two of us brought entries. Though one guy did bring rolls that he thinks might have been baked from scratch. He’s not sure because his wife just had a baby, and neighbors and well wishers are dropping off all sorts of food. I have my doubts.

But back to the point. I won a blue ribbon, just like the one you see here. Except my ribbon says that I am a winner for Best Bread. I don’t have a picture of the actual ribbon because it’s hanging proudly in my cubicle at work and I worked from home today. To add to my feelings of pride for what I have accomplished I won with a recipe I’ve never tried before. You could say it was beginners luck or that the only reason I won was because the other entry was made by the organizer of the contest so she wasn’t eligible. But I like to think it’s because I am on the brink of getting discovered by Food Network and will soon have my own cooking show. Ooh, maybe I’ll even get my own cookbook.

I happen to be so lucky as to work with Robyn.

I partook of the bread and it was delicious. My mouth watered and I delighted in its goodness. I am not surprised at its scrumptiousness, however, as it was made by a superhero.

Renee- The recipe was posted on my previous blog, http://www.robynstorms.com/bread-day.html. Enjoy!

Ha ha. So glad you won the bread making contest. I told David to remind me about it so I could make some for him to take, but he reminded me the night before—way too late to make anything. And you are lucky, because you would have had a run for your money! he he. Okay, maybe not. Next year though—show down time! =)

Your blog is cute, and just so you know, I do sport the side part–although does it count if your hair hasn’t been washed, dried or curled? not sure…

Anne- It probably wouldn’t take much to beat me next year. I am no pro in the kitchen, but always hoping to get better. Thanks for stopping by.
